Although I am predominantly a skateboarding photographer, I find amazing black and white portraiture of Clay Enos to be very inspiring, especially that of his Watchmen movie series. (http://www.clayenos.com/content/watchmen/watchmenportraits.html)

For my shoot I tried to get a similar look to my own photos by emulating lighting techniques and black and white conversion. Obviously I am no Clay Enos and still need a lot of work to perfect a style as refined as his so for now I am happy to take second best.

Brief #5 - Cultural Identity

For my cultural identity image i have tried to convey the irrelevancy of family backgrounds in a country as diverse and free as Australia. I am of half German and half English background yet no particular traditions of these countries play much in my life today. Use of the hand gestures are of course extremely stereotypical but i have merely used them for artistic effect.
